What is the heart of our ministry to Greater Harrisburg?
It’s a fair question, isn’t it? Why do we do what we do? What is at the center of our ministry of teaching, prayer, encouragement to our faith family, and to the wider community outside these walls?
The answer is found in the words of our mission statement—a practical application of the Great Commission—the ancient challenge of Jesus to his followers.
As a body united in Christ and led by Scripture, we at New Covenant Fellowship exist to see the grace and truth of Jesus Christ transform the privilege, politics, and poverty that surround us in Greater Harrisburg, and the world. We will do this by learning, loving, and living out the grace and truth of Jesus Christ.
Underneath this mission is a desire to be a church that exists not for ourselves, but for the flourishing of those around us. As ambassadors of Jesus, we want to creatively engage, encouragingly relate, and lovingly treat the places, the people, and the things to which we are called. We aim to do this by learning, loving, and living out of the center of all truth and the source of all thriving—the gospel.
This is why we do what we do.
